A few weeks in

It's now been about 3 and a half weeks since I started my studies at Noroff Digital Prototyping, I've had some setbacks which, quoting Les Brown, I see as a setup for a comeback. It's Thursday 10th of November at the day of writing this, and I'm now starting my most recent week in school. Not to worry, I did get an extension, however now I need to work hard to catch up, considering I'm doing a full-time study.

Yesterday I delivered my first module assignment. It was a great experience to get through this assignment. I've learned to use more of the AutoCAD tools, I've gotten more into the habit of writing the report, in addition we started reading in our curriculum books. The assignment was for us to make a drawing for 3 different views of a stove. In addition we could also draw it in isometric view, isometric view is a view from an angle, where you can see the top, side and front view at the same time. It's not using perspective, which means that every side is parallel to each other and there is no distortion as a perspective view would give you.

It was simpler than I'd expected, but a good beginner challenge where we needed to show a good use of the basic tools in AutoCAD. It also required me to learn something that wasn't taught in the school lessons (as far as I remember...) which was how to make an isocircle in AutoCAD. This is basically an ellipse that makes it looks like a circle seen from an angle. I used this in the isometric view to make the plates for example, on the stove.

The report I wrote caused me to look for and find something I didn't know Word could do, which was to make a table of contents automatically, that you could use to jump to the different headlines in the report.
