Growing Pain

While I have experience in the field of 3D from before and also some in CAD, I never expected it to be as difficult as it has been. I have had to really push myself to learn the basics in the beginning, because it is totally different from 3D modelling that leans towards art and not technical design. Technical design is still my beginning in 3D, as I came from learning Fusion 360 before anything else 3D.

This assignment I'm doing at the time of writing, is the last assignment of 2D technical drawing. And, the end of one, marks the beginning of another, the other being 3D technical drawing. This subject is something I will have lots of fun with, as I own 2 3D printers, and will be able to design my own prototypes in no time. I also have a VR headset, so you could say, well... I like to create things in 3 dimensions.

My experience with this assignment is that I have managed to put a lot of what I've learned together into one project, and draft a design in much more accuracy than I did the weeks before. I am becoming more proficient in AutoCAD and 3D technical drawing, as well as in problem solving, which is one of the subjects I really enjoy doing. A couple of examples is that I have learned to draw with arcs with more confidence and accuracy. Another is that I have learned to follow the standards that is set in NS (Norwegian Standard). I am also learning and growing in documenting my process/progress.

Until next time, this has been my update, from the first week of December 2022.
