My beginning at Noroff
Welcome to my blog.
I have studied at Noroff before. This is my second course at Noroff, and I am very excited to share with you my experience as a student.
Now, I am by no means the perfect student in terms of how I (and probably many others) think the ideal student looks like. However... who is? I would still like to share some of my experiences, tips and tricks and in general the life I live as an online student.
I had long wanted to get into 3D design. It wasn't until January of 2021, that I finally decided to apply for a course in 3D. This had also been a hobby of mine for a few months, since I got my first 3D printer only some months before. When I finally bought my first 3D printer, I was super excited. I wanted to make anything and everything that I could think of. This got me into 3D drawing in a software, called Fusion 360. It was free at the time, for people who made less than 100 000 dollars a year which was a big concern of mine! Not... So, as I took the task of making things accurately in 3D and printing them, I learned a lot. I learned to measure and draw in 3D on the computer, I learned to prototype, and adjust the things that turned out not to work. And then when I finally got the working design, I got the pleasure of using it for a long time knowing that I made that.
This was the experience that pulled me towards 3D design, which is what I studied at the first year of Noroff. The studies was called 3D Design and Animation, which changed name later on, to 3D Art and Games Technology.
The story of how I applied and got in to Digital Prototyping later on is an interesting one. I was originally going to study for the second year for games technology. However, I was just looking around at the Noroff website as I stumbled upon this Digital Prototyping course, which was what I originally wanted to study from the start.
